Help please! I need a come back response from something my brother wrote on my facebook. This is what he wrote: Liviticus 18-22 tired of hearing about coming out! read it and you will understand why. From what I remember it has nothing to do about homosexuality. I have 3 siblings he is my older brother and the only one I havent fully come out to yet. we aren't very close. my sister and younger brother and my parents all know and they fully support me and since coming out to them we have become even closer.

Leviticus 22 says: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." Tell him it's OK, you only lie with women and not with men. *snerk* No but seriously, sorry he's being like that.

There are also the famous passages that I bet he ignores that say things like "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." (Leviticus 19:27) "...do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear material woven of two kinds of material." (Leviticus 19:19) "But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:10) "They (shellfish) shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination." (Leviticus 11:11) etc.

my theory is that the biblical food recommendations had to do with disease transmission, parasites, and preservation.
